LURE - Orsay
The LURE center, laboratory for electromagnetic radiation usage, located on the heart of the Orsay Univesity campus, was a production and utilization of synchrotron radiation ( high energy X-rays) facility for various research fields. This lab was composed by 6 particle accelerators. The LURE operator, the National Center of Scientific Research (CNRS), was autorised to operate the permanent decommissioning and to dismantle the site by the 14 April 2009 decree, and the nuclear center was definitively downgraded in December 2015.
